Hieronder vat ik voor u graag samen waarover mijn project gaat en waarom ik uw hulp zeker kan gebruiken.
 

VERHAAL

MET TWEE vertelt het eeuwenoude verhaal van liefde en zijn twee kanten: licht en duisternis, de roep en de fluistering. Het is die fluistering die Cleo (21) opschrikt. De hoop om liefde te vinden bij haar jeugdvriendin Liz (20) verdwijnt door woorden van afscheid.

Wanneer ze samen een avond uitgaan op reis botsen de werelden van de twee vriendinnen. Hoewel ze allebei elkaar willen, is het snel duidelijk dat er bij Liz toch iets wringt. Een trauma uit haar jeugd overschaduwt de roep om samen te kunnen zijn met Cleo, met een ander meisje.

Na dit nachtelijke avontuur valt hun auto op de terugweg naar huis middenin een bos in panne. Hun werelden staan hier even stil, iets waar Liz bang voor is en probeerde te vermijden. Ze hoopte het intense gevoel van de avond ervoor te kunnen ontwijken, maar ze wordt bij elke blik, aanraking,... van Cleo aan dat natuurlijke gevoel herinnerd. Intussen hoopt Cleo Liz mee te kunnen nemen in haar mindset dat een stiekem leven, geen leven is dat ze beide willen leiden. Als ze voor elkaar willen gaan, dan is het nu en niet wanneer het misschien te laat is. 

 

INTENTIE

Het intrigeert me hoe ieder persoon zo anders kan staan over eenzelfde levenskeuze.

Thematisch vertelt de film het verhaal van de keuzes waar we in het leven worden voorgezet. Niemand wilt op een dag opstaan met een gevoel dat je die ene dag de foute keuze hebt gemaakt, enkel en alleen om de mening van de mensen rondom te vermijden. 

In dit verhaal worden de twee vriendinnen voor de keuze van de gevoelens voor elkaar gezet. Liefde zou zijn natuurlijke gang moeten kunnen gaan, maar in een wereld als de dag van vandaag spelen er nog vaak twijfels en gewetens mee, die dat natuurlijke gevoel tegen werken. 

Het bos en de natuur is een rode draad doorheen het verhaal, die mee dat natuurlijke gevoel representeert.

WIE WERKT ER MEE?

Ik ben Margot Blihi (22), masterstudent Televisie en Film aan LUCA School Of Arts te Genk. Als afstudeerproject en dus mijn masterproef zal ik MET TWEE regisseren. De film is een passieproject waar ik al een tijdje aan werk, samen met mijn co-scenarist Ruben Heuvelmans. Om dit project nu eindelijk tot stand te zien komen is geweldig, maar we zijn er nog niet..

Natuurlijk maak je een film niet alleen! 

Je hebt een geweldige cast nodig die jouw verhaal weet tot leven te brengen. Ik heb de eer om hiervoor samen te werken met:

WAAR GAAT AL DAT GELD NAARTOE?

Jammer genoeg kost het maken van een kortfilm geld, ook voor studenten. Ik heb het geluk te kunnen rekenen op een fantastische crew die zich mee inzet in dit verhaal. Toch komt er nog heel wat bij kijken: camera en licht materiaal, kostuum, cast, transportkosten, catering en verzekeringen moeten betaald worden.

Via crowdfunding hoop ik jullie aan te spreken om hierbij te helpen, alle kleine beetjes helpen!

Below, I would like to summarise for you what my project is about and why I could definitely use your help. 

STORY

THE TWO OF US tells the age-old story of love and its two sides: light and darkness, the call and the whisper. It is that whisper that startles Cleo (21). Hopes of finding love with her childhood friend Liz (20) vanish with words of goodbye. 

During a night out on a trip, the two girlfriends' worlds collide. Although they both want to, it soon becomes clear that something is wrong with Liz. A trauma from her childhood overshadows the call to be able to be with Cleo, with another girl.

After this nocturnal adventure, their car breaks down in the middle of a forest on the way home. Their worlds stand still for a moment here, something Liz feared. She hoped to avoid the intense feeling of the night before, but she is reminded of that natural feeling with every glance, touch of Cleo reminds her of that natural feeling. Cleo hopes to take Liz along in her mindset that a sneaky life, is not a life they both want to live. If they want to go for each other, it's now and not when it might be too late.

 

INTENTION

It intrigues me how each person can stand so differently about the same life choice.

Thematically, the film tells the story of the choices we are faced with in life. Nobody wants to get up one day feeling like you made the wrong choice that one day, just to avoid the opinions of those around.

In this story, the two girlfriends are faced with the choice of feelings for each other. Love should be allowed to take its natural course, but in a world like today, doubts and consciences still often come into play, working against that natural feeling.

The forest and nature is a common thread throughout the story, helping to represent that natural feeling.

CAST AND CREW

I'm Margot Blihi (22), master's student in Television and Film at LUCA School Of Arts in Genk. As a graduation project and so my master's thesis, I will direct THE TWO OF US. The film is a passion project I have been working on for a while now, together with my co-screenwriter Ruben Heuvelmans. To finally see this project come to life is great, but we are not there yet....

Of course, you don't make a film alone!

You need a great cast that knows how to bring your story to life. For this, I have the honour of working with:

Where does all that money go? 

Unfortunately, making a short film costs money, even for students. I am fortunate to be able to count on a fantastic crew that is committed to this story. Still, there is a lot involved: camera and lighting equipment, costume, cast, transport costs, catering and insurance have to be paid for.
