Hello sweet sweet people,
 
At this time, I’m working on the preparations of my bachelor’s film at LUCA School of Arts, which will be shot in a month!
 
To end my year with a film I’m proud of, I need your help!
 
Working on this project has been quite the journey, and I’m sure it will continue to be for the next months to come. It’s important for me that you know how this began and where I find myself now. This project started out as a research-based film somewhere between fiction and documentary, exploring how we navigate in the aftermath of a collective trauma, especially when so physically distanced from it. I found myself asking how it’s possible for these avoidable tragedies to take place, feeling devastated at the government’s actions, and how widespread corruption affects the human morale.  I’ve only begun to scratch the surface of these topics, but as I worked on it, I started to feel a push towards a fictionalization. Which I am now pursuing.

Synopsis

In this film we follow Rudi, an intern on a commercial film set. We feel a sense of impending doom. A fire breaks out on set. Signs of danger are being ignored by figures of authority. The director gaslights the crew that everything is fine, so shooting continues, with consequences following.

Where does the money go?

Making a short film is anything but cheap. Think of actors, covering transport, renting equipment, building decor, paying for festival submissions and the list goes on and on. Here’s where your support makes a difference.

Op dit moment ben ik bezig met de voorbereidingen van mijn bachelorfilm aan LUCA School of Arts, die over een maandje gedraaid wordt!!!
 
Om mijn jaar af te sluiten met een film waar ik trots op ben, heb ik jullie hulp nodig!
 
Tot nu toe is dit project een wilde rit geweest, en ik ben overtuigd dat het zich zo zal verderzetten deze komende maanden. Het is voor mij belangrijk dat jullie weten hoe dit allemaal begon en waar ik nu sta. Deze film startte onderzoeksgericht uit, ergens tussen fictie en documentaire, waarin ik onderzocht hoe te navigeren in nasleep van een collectief trauma. Ik vroeg me af hoe het mogelijk is dat zo vermijdbare tragedies toch plaatsvinden, ik kon me niet anders dan machteloos voelen bij het zien van reacties en handelen van regeringen. Ik raak nog maar net het oppervlak aan van deze onderwerpen, maar hoe meer ik me erin verdiep, des te meer ik me getrokken voel naar een fictionalisering. En dit is wat ik nu wil waarmaken.

Synopsis
In deze film volgen we Rudi, een stagiair op een commerciële filmset. We voelen naderend onheil. Er breekt brand uit op de set. Gevaar wordt genegeerd door autoriteire figuren. De regisseur laat de crew geloven dat alles in orde is en dus gaan de opnames door, met alle gevolgen van dien.

Waar gaat het geld naartoe? 
Het maken van een kortfilm is allesbehalve goedkoop. Denk aan acteurs, het vergoeden en regelen van transport, het huren van apparatuur, het bouwen van decor, aanmelden voor festivals, en zo gaat het lijstje door.
